This piano has a great sound because it a little bigger than a baby grand and because it was built in the "Golden Age" of piano building when many of the great pianos today were made.  The ivories are perfect, there is very little wear on the action, the tuning pins are tight and the strings are in good shape.  The tone is amazingly warm and vibrant.

Another option to make the piano like new and to guarentee it will last another generation, would be to rebuild it with a new pinblock, strings, cosmetically improving the look of the soundboard (shims and refinishing) spray the plate beautiful gold again, and have a refinisher go over it thoroughly removing any minor scratches etc and coating it with more lacquer. This will make it look just about new. The action will be thoroughly regulated. It has perfect original ivories and has a remarkably beautiful tone partially because it is 6ft and partially because it is a high quality instrument. It will be guaranteed for 5 years. The final cost in this case is $8500.
